“SEXO, MENTIRAS Y CUENTAS EN BANCOS SUIZOS”
“Desayunar en el Palacio de la Zarzuela debe de ser un asunto tenso estos días”
La realidad es que los medios británicos nunca han tratado excesivamente bien a los españoles, pero lo llamativo en esta ocasión es que los que cargan con ferocidad contra España y su Familia Real no son los siempre gritones tabloides londinenses, sino el sacrosanto, aburrido y monárquico ‘The Times’.
Durísima la portada que dedica el diario británico, que tira más de 400.000 copias al día y se imprime en la City londinense desde 1785, al rey emérito Juan Carlos.
El rotativo dedica al monarca español, padre del Rey Felipe VI, un extenso artículo sobre las últimas investigaciones sobre sus supuestos escándalos. Pero eso no es lo más llamativo.
Lo que chirría, choca y hasta estremece es ver el titular que lleva en su portada, justo debajo del logo, en colores, con una pequeña foto del viejo rey en uniforme militar y donde justo al pie de las palabras ‘El Rey Caído’ pone: «Sexo, dinero y escándalo sacuden a España.»
Remiten al interior, donde va un artículo, firmado por el periodista Isambard Wilkinson, con otro título de impacto: «Sex, lies and Swiss bank accounts» (Sexo, mentiras y cuentas en bancos suizos).
Con un subtitulo en sintonía ‘The allegations against Spain’s ex-king that are rocking his son’s reign‘ (Las acusaciones contra el ex rey de España que están sacudiendo el reinado de su hijo).
Esta vez sobre una foto de toda la Familia Real española, incluidas la princesa y la infanta.
En su nota, repasa Isambard Wilkinson de forma inclemente los últimos enredos que han afectado al emérito, empezando por el supuesto cobro de comisiones por parte de las monarquías árabes por el AVE a La Meca.
“Desayunar en el Palacio de la Zarzuela debe de ser un asunto tenso estos días”, comienza con ironía el periodista, que recuerda que Juan Carlos “afronta una tormenta de acusaciones sobre sus negocios financieros” que hace que “el clan borbónico gobernante pueda temer los periódicos de la mañana”.
Wilkinson asegura en su reportaje que “la familia real teme que su patriarca termine en el banquillo” y recuerda que su hijo y actual rey, Felipe VI, anunció que renuncia a la herencia del dinero de su padre.
Declaración del gestor del rey
El pasado 1 de mayo se conoció que Arturo Fasana, gestor de la cuenta en suiza que tiene Juan Carlos, declaró ante la Fiscalía helvética que el emérito le entregó un maletín con 1,7 millones de euros.
El dinero se ingresó el 7 de abril de 2010 y fue transferido por el rey de Bahréin, Hamad bin Isa al Jalifa. La cuenta donde se hizo el ingreso, explicó entonces El País, estaba a nombre de la fundación panameña Lucum.
Fasana, al que la justicia suiza investiga por blanqueo de capitales, fue interrogado por el fiscal en octubre de 2018 y esta fue su respuesta preguntado por el origen del dinero:
“Juan Carlos I es una persona apreciada en los países del Golfo. Volvía de Abu Dabi y vino a mi casa a Ginebra. Quería almorzar conmigo. Me dijo que había recibido 1,9 millones del sultán de Bahréin, que le había ofrecido este dinero. Escribí un informe de visitas [trámite bancario para justificar un ingreso del cliente] y pedí al banco si podía entregar el dinero. Me dijeron que sí”.
En dicha contestación explicó que el rey le había hecho entrega de una maleta con el dinero.
Recordemos un poco el gesto de un hombre, que mandó callar al charlatán más grande de América del Sur: Hugo Chávez.
