En un recorrido realizado por el centro de Caracas se pudo constatar que una familia necesita desembolsar más 12.500.000 bolívares para adquirir los ingredientes de las tradicionales hallacas
Para un gran número de ciudadanos el año 2020 ha sido uno de los más difíciles de sobrellevar por la pandemia del covid-19, sumado a la crisis económica que golpea al país. Sin embargo, muchos de ellos ya se preparan para celebrar la Navidad con las tradicionales hallacas en sus mesas.
“Pese a todos los problemas, ya me estoy preparando para hacer mis hallacas. Desde que tengo memoria, siempre las hemos comido y este año no será diferente”, expresó a El Nacional Alexandra Gutiérrez, una caraqueña de 34 años de edad que, desde hace tres años, compra los ingredientes para las hallacas desde noviembre.
“Aunque no lo creas, me ahorro algo de dinero porque en diciembre todo aumenta el triple. Entonces, voy comprando y guardando. Ya tengo cuatro harinas y la carne congelada. Si ya para estas fechas todo está caro, no me quiero imaginar en diciembre”, aseguró.
En un recorrido realizado por el centro de Caracas se pudo constatar que una familia necesita desembolsar más 12.500.000 bolívares para adquirir los ingredientes con los que hacer las tradicionales hallacas (quizás 30 o 40). Los buhoneros ofrecen 100 gramos de aceitunas, alcaparras o pasitas por 1 dólar, mientras que en las charcuterías, los precios varían entre los 4.000.000 y 6.000.000 de bolívares el kilo.
100 gramos de onoto se pueden conseguir entre 100.000 y 160.000 bolívares, y la harina de maíz desde los 490.000 bolívares.
Las proteínas para el guiso como la carne, el pollo y el tocino, representan uno de los desembolsos más importantes de este plato tradicional.
La carne para guisar se consigue desde 1.700.000 bolívares el kilo. Muchos, para ahorrarse algo de dinero, prefieren adquirir lagarto sin hueso, pero la diferencia en el precio no supera los 300.000 bolívares.
La pechuga de pollo se puede adquirir por un precio de 1.400.000 bolívares por kilo y el tocino está entre los 2.900.000 y los 3.500.000 bolívares.
La cebolla y el pimentón tienen un precio de 700.000 bolívares y 1.300.000 bolívares por kilo, respectivamente; y 100 gramos de ajo, un auténtico ingrediente para sazonar el guiso de las hallacas, cuestan entre 350.000 y 400.000 bolívares.
Las hojas de las hallacas se encuentran por paquetes para 50 unidades o por kilo. Su precio varía entre 400.0000 y 600.000 bolívares.
En la mayoría de los comercios, los pabilos se ofrecen en combo. El precio varía entre 400.000 y 450.000 bolívares.
Combos hallaqueros por redes sociales
Algo que ha dejado la pandemia es el aumento de ventas de productos a través de las redes sociales. Uno de ellos, es la oferta de combos hallaqueros a precios dolarizados.
Uno de esos paquetes, que podrían resultar factible, tiene un precio de 10 dólares y contiene: 500 gramos de pasas, 300 gramos de alcaparra, 500 gramos de aceituna, dos pabilos, 100 gramos de onoto, 1 cubito y 2 harinas de maíz.
El segundo combo tiene un precio de 15 dólares y ofrece: 500 gramos de pasas, 500 gramos de alcaparra, 500 gramos de aceituna, dos pabilos, 100 gramos de onoto, 1 cubito y 4 harinas de maíz.
“Aunque todo esté por las nubes, en mi casa sí haremos hallacas. Es una tradición que no se puede perder, además de que es una sola vez al año“, dijo Henry Martínez.
